kai: I should Adachi's magical ametropia

using Adachi's body as a godly vessel fueled by fog and Shadows, the way he sustained injuries and all the side effects of being used as a vessel in the first place didn't exactly leave him normal after all that

true, he's also got some aspects of mimi left inside him like say. I don't know, persistence in fog and the cold. kind of applies to sho too after kagu leaves his body with fire and heat or something

while the way mim formed amesa gave a lot of buffer with the manifested body and Adachi himself, the way Souji stabbed through the lens and shattered it affected Adachi's eyes mostly and something mim didn't really have much control over

they were both hurt, yes, but this was Adachi's body. his eyes bled but he didn't go blind. just in a way his eyes malformed in non normally treatable kind of way. or that it's malforming still

he used reading glasses up until graduating highschool maybe, he never really needed them all the time . and maybe he did wear contacts but lost them and stopped using eye corrective aids since he could still drive without them. and reading things weren't too much of a strain on his eyes anyway. makes him wonder why he had glasses when it only improved his sight only a little bit

during checkup doctors wonder if he sustained any injuries or were hurt near his eyes and face. he says that he's been stabbed in the eyes in a joking tone and they assume he's been poked or something. but they cant see any actual externally made damage on them. his eye tests are inconsistent every time he's had to do it. the ways his eyes focus isn't really normal from that point on

maruki asks about his vision and his eyes during evaluation, and adachis always been careful what to tell him out of all the psychologists and doctors he's met. although, maruki's already gotten whiff about the whole eye stabbing poking thing anyway

he doesn't really admit how his eyes have been damaged any further and how his vision has been working so far, but maruki still encourages him to get glasses, even if there's no grade at all. maybe in a way his eyes can subconsciously correct his vision because he's wearing something that should correct one's vision

as someone who easily throws up or can throw up on command, there's been accounts of adachi vomiting sometimes trying to get used to his vision. getting awfully nauseous with how things focus and go out of focus. like the foreground can be in focus with the background or neither focus at all no matter how far or how close he is. his depth perception is thoroughly botched and has been walking into things the first few weeks he's been getting used to it. he does the 20 20 20 exercise often to calm his eyes down for the most part and it usually works. avoiding changing where he looks and doesn't make much eye contact with people when talking or faking it and hes usually on the mark, besides only being able to see the blob of blurred color a person's face is supposed to be. it's kind of hell for him but he doesn't really show it

his head often spinning but he's kind of given meds for that at least

he doesn't really get glasses again until after he's transferred properly and he's approved and provided for the glasses

and ummm he's learned a bit before ultimax that his vision is also connected to his will. about the things he wants to see and what he doesn't want to see and it's super funny that way actually

he hasn't had much conscious opinion on the things around him which is why they don't focus properly. he'll want to see so bad that they both come into focus like an orthographic view and it'll make him sick and he gets frustrated it all blurs. he doesn't really like the people he's talking to, so it doesn't bother focusing. he can develop tunnel vision if he sees a red uniform across an alley as he's wandering around Inaba. as long as he can control his desires somewhat, he'll be able to manually focus his eyes which might seem tiring at first, but he'll be able to see things again.

the glasses do help a lot with the whole natural correction kind of thing. opthalmologists saying his eyes are out of wack and they can't figure out what prescription to give him so they'll leave him blind. but the man says this other doctor without a PhD says he should get frames nonetheless like some fashion statement at that point. he gets them anyway

mimi and teddie on a journey to make glasses for adachi that'll help him for real. finding a way to magically heal them is also on the table but that's too risky still

teddie being told to find a way to make changing lenses that inverse his vision and balance with his desires. all the solutions so far have been mechanical, with some help with sho and kirijo tech actually. but they hope to find a more lightweight and practical material in the sea of human souls one day.

asking Jose if he has some special sand or glass that gets affected by desire... oh well. maybe one day.

kai: mimi and adachi but they really are childhood best friends and i throw up and cry

kai: imagine your parents just fighting with each other and your booted to a more rural town constantly pressured and berated your rep in society won’t be good as promised but you keep on trucking on and your only way of keeping on is meeting this sickly child in a wheel chair on the hilltop everyday who loves rain because it’s easier on his body and you tell him about the world and you learn each others’ names half a year since you’ve met and he tells you his mother never lets him near people hence why he’s isolated and is brought to the hilltop when it’s empty enough and you try to convince her he should go out farther than he has been after a field trip around the city which is terrible timing because he starts collapsing and she keeps her child under firmer lockdown and you’re stuck blaming yourself you fucked up a person’s life for being their friend and you’re being brought back to the city which gives you some relief you can bury your past and never think about it again but because you don’t want to stay and figure out if this guy ends up dead or if you’ll ever know at all so you grow bitter and rot inside for years and come back to the same city you’ve blacked out from your life to meet someone you recognize by face but utterly unconvinced [this guy is the same person from before] because he’s so happy and healthy and tall and can stand and run around and enjoy the city and you never learn his name and he never asks for yours then all the symptoms start showing up and you start distancing yourself from instinct when it was the absolute opposite thing you should be doing and now it’s all too late all too late

kai: late 90s inaba..

dunno if he's alone or with a relative or his parents still but kid adachi's in inaba for whatever reason

there's not as much grime or apathy in him as he would be as an adult so he's giving things a chance as much as he'd sigh about it

he doesn't really hold up any friend groups or stick around people or make any friends in general. he doesn't take extra curriculars besides extra studying that never really gets any attention from his parents. he'd laugh at kids wasting their time with other things and friends or something. he would take up a part time job but if it involved working with people he doesn't try much, so he's stuck making envelopes and folding origami and translating maybe

not that he's bullied or anything but he isn't bothered by people and he won't bother them. he shared books with a seatmate once but that's one of the farthest he's ever gone with interaction

he'd head straight home after class and usually stays there without going outside. not that he needs to besides quick groceries maybe. the neighbors would try to interact with him and his parents but they're usually shut in about it so the adachis are quite the usual closed in city people

sticking to the mindset that he's all set for life if he does well in school and follow the standard society cookie cutter life for a man. he can't fail obviously, but he'd get looks from his parents for being average, but I don't think he was ever top of his class but maybe he does once or twice, he's above average at best

talentless and no more than a prodigy, he just stuffs his nose into his studies. not that he likes doing it but it's all he can do and should do. it's his comfort zone although there could be other things in life that could make things more exciting, he just never steps out of it

some kind of sick playing the long game kind of thing and wondering if the future will really end up as cleanly as it's been arranged

stray dogs on one street on the way home from school so he takes a detour. he was scared of getting lost once because he'd have to ask for directions and get even more lost. which is exactly what happened. city folk unsure why the adachi kid isn't going the right way when they're sure they told him to take a right at the third left he'll take from the tree in the corner with root visible from the ground next to this granny's house who actually moved elsewhere at some point

he notices he starts walking up an incline and remembers the hilltop people talk about. wondering if he could use it as a vantage point to get a better idea of the place than outdated misprinted maps

it was about to rain too. the sky was dark and better yet he'd have to wait by the gazebos for half an hour or more until he could get home

but he found some kid there with hair the same color as the sky. looking up as if he'd want the rain to fall

and that he comes closer to the kid and asks why he's there if it's going to rain. in which he replies that it wouldn't rain. just the sky mocking them with colors and smells. he looked a bit disappointed while saying that

the kid with pale skin and a sunken face and probably a bony body underneath the button up shirt and handmade sweater with subtle embroidery. telling the boy with glasses that he's the same boy that takes the same route at the same time everyday except weekends. always seen in a uniform and never really any casual clothes. maybe that one evening where he had a sweater and loose pants taking the long way to the supposed nearby convenience store and dragging himself back home with a plastic bag in hand. yawning so much his glasses should have squished between his cheeks and eyebrows

a soft voice that always sounded breathless but desperately wanted to talk. talking slowly and taking a quiet and deep breath after every sentence or two. it made time go slow. adachi didn't know how much time had passed, how much time he would consider "wasted" he was tired from walking and spinning around in alleyways and tripping over uneven road. the words the kid spoke could've gone into one ear and through the other while he would scan the area above him and find his home buried in the green of trees and gathering mist. but instead, the kid's words rung in his head while his view spaced out where the scenery in front of him became an impressionist painting. maybe it was the way he spoke, that he strained his ears to listen. but why would he listen? he could just tell him he needed to leave and go home. ask him for directions and be done with it. he's seen him go home countless times, he made his way up to the hilltop and does it regularly enough to leave tire tracks in the grass. but he wanted to listen. maybe he liked his voice. maybe the pace was so refreshing enough that he's heard another human being speak. someone his age that he isn't fussing over.

was he awkward having to stand there and listen to a stranger talk? this kid was more akin to a ghost than a schoolmate. he wasn't even wearing a uniform and looks like he belongs in a hospital. it's not like he stays in one as adachis route home never passes by a hospital. was he scared? was he doing this out of common courtesy? was he interested in his story? did he want to stay and learn more about things that would not help him in society?

that this kid's mother told him he was the new family that moved into inaba. that his mother would bring him to the hilltop as she would pick flowers. that she would tell him everything about the outside world because there's only so much his body could reach.

that he's sick. and his sister sicker that she can't even wake up. that he's there with his eyes opened mouth speaking and lungs breathing but he can't stand. that there's only so much places he's allowed to go. doctors and nurses who would talk to him but never really let him talk back. never really dreaming of being able to stand and walk and run because he'd rather just be done with life if theres nothing standing or walking or running for

and it's his curiosity that keeps him breathing. an imagination so vast as it's the only place he can live in. but also curiosity his downfall. what if he learns the world is cruel and he is not needed and just leeches of off lives better worth living than his own. what if there's so much to experience which he can't because he's just as worth as a bucket of bones to be tossed out to dogs who can better chew them and snap them to swallow its bone marrow for nutrition. but ah, isn't he sick? would the dogs get sick too? would the earth get sick too? if a snap of a finger could make him disappear then that would be so much better

then he asks adachi about school. something his mother wouldn't know how to explain. then he asks about the taste of soda. the green one, then the red one. that it's not really red or green, that it's carbonated and clear or brown. then he asks about the taste of tomato juice compared to vegetable juice, that, the boy in glasses could not answer.

the streetlamps began to flicker on. the kid points his skinny finger across from him and tells adachi to go over a wall through this home if he wanted to get past the dogs and get home quickly from the hilltop. otherwise he'd have to trek his way around and get caught by the grannies for ages before getting home and receiving another earful from his parents all the same.

the next day does adachi pass by a convenience store and does get kagome vegetable and tomato juice out of morbid curiosity of his own. gagging at the result of tomato juice by itself and not bothering to poke open the other one. going back up to the hilltop (without any guilt because his parents never really complained besides him coming late and not studying that he usually does) and seeing the kid facing the city again. adachi answering his question of what the juices taste like and cutting himself off and handing him a half empty box of tomato juice he drank from. the kid drinking it and saying it's a new flavor. new texture. and tastes the other juice box. that there's two empty boxes with him now and adachi asks which one he liked, if he did like any. and he answers he liked the tomato one, with a growing smile that was like a ray of light breaking through rain clouds. adachi scratched the back of his head and mentioned the vitamin c content and iron absorption. そうか the kid answered, looking back at the boxes he held.

kai: what the hell ahhhhh back to adachi theatre ahhhha gaughhh

where was i

kai: mimi has really a lot of trouble breathing and enjoys cold temperatures . not being able to exert much energy or yell and that they sleep could under trees with dappled sunlight over their body like a woodland creature

that they have their hair tied and they’re told they look like their mom when adachi’s finally met Izy. and when the hair tie comes loose adachi encourages them to keep it off because it looks like themself

that everyday mim gets more encouraged to recover so they can do more things with adachi and izy wonders when mim tries to walk towards her who they’re actually thinking about at the end

that adachi sneaks them out of the hilltop once or twice to have a trip around the city or even the shopping district and come back right in the nick of time before Izy comes to fetch them. of course she knows with everyone telling her about it but she figures it might be fine

at some point they push themself too hard even when adachi tells them to dial it down and izy catches them at their weakest. mim worried that she’s mad at adachi when it’s their fault and they try telling her but they’re too weak to do so

staying at home to recover but worrying adachi because they don’t see them at the hilltop nor the window of their own home

both of their own insecurities piling on top of each other as time passes and izy not intervening to ease either of them

that mim can only explore their estate and not even see their own sister . that they’re sick of recovering and try rehabilitating on their own. izy constantly running to them after hearing they’ve fallen to the floor and crawling their way back up to the training bars just to work by themself making their recovery take longer

so mad at their own mother thinking that they’re trying run away but that they’re only worrying adachi more if they’re taking longer to get better and doesn’t really realize that

one day they’re told that the adachis are leaving inaba and mim rushes to the roses and lilies they’ve picked and tended to for the past few weeks for something to do staying stuck inside. making a bouquet so full of rage from their mother only telling them now and wanting to say some sort of goodbye

pricking themself on the roses after working too hard and izy comes in to help them with the bouquet. mim making a quick teru teru bozu to tie it off with the bow and try rushing to the door until izy says she’ll deliver it for them

putting some sense into mim’s brain that she’s not letting them out because they don’t want adachi to see a weak mimi out of breath on his last day in inaba and further convince him that being friends with mimi just made them sicker. and that he’s thought that for the longest time. and mimi doesn’t understand. and tries arguing that it’s her fault for making it look like that but just loses breath

but izy tells them that he’s suspected they’re fine and still recovering and that it’s just human nature to second guess things and doubt one self and make themself look bad as self defense. and mimi still doesn’t understand. but izy’s just glad mimi has a friend that is very human

that izy just says he’ll have to interpret that mim’s fine and they’re happy they’ve been his friend or he’ll end up hating himself his whole life and his psyche unconsciously trying to black out those memories as he lives. in which the latter happened instead

his mom leaving the seating booth to “find something” in another cart to leave adachi alone with his flowers and its pungent smell and he starts crying into the bouquet further associating the fragrance of roses and lilies with a memory like that

that he won’t enter flower shops and steer clear from displays and hates celebrations and has tried throwing up at the smell of them just to associate that he feels sick from the smell but the dreading emotion of perceived loss and leaving is overwhelming but it’s been long enough that the memory itself is blurry

kai: mimi shadow adachi bestieship when

a part of iznmi left in adachi when they’ve possessed him once to manifest ame-no-sagiri. then when they’re defeated as mino, they find themself still present existing in some sort of space. their personality comes back to the remnant they left inside adachi

shadow adachi poking around the gas station and wondering why it’s so foggy all the time and finds something thats not manifested from adachis heart. that he manages to get god back to their senses and have it recuperate in his heart in his body

iznmi themself wondering why it’s still “alive” in a sense it’s sentient and still acting as its own entity despite god itself was fueled by a collective unconscious acting as a shell while it’s puppeteered by something else. it and shadow adachi coming to the idea it’s formed it’s own ego. similar to the bear

marie’s case is different, because izanami-no-mikoto has always had an ego. marie inherited most of the human aspects of her while iznmi was left with her power and “physical” likeness

at this state, iznmi can’t leave adachis heart nor body. even if it could, it would fizzle out and die from how weak it is as merely a remnant of godly power and an underdeveloped ego with no vessel. like how marie was kept safe in the velvet room to keep her existence stable

the only point of reference on life iznmi has is whatever manifests in adachi’s heart, which is mostly just an inaba that’s a living maze. it finds itself most comfortable staying by the gas station for reasons they can’t explain yet, while s.adachi tries to figure out himself. why the gas station are some of the few stable things in this manifested world of heart as if it means something to adachi himself

iznmi really doesn’t look like it belongs in adachi’s unconscious world because adachi himself knows little to nothing about it. or he forgot. s.adachi himself only recalls when iznmi was stronger and it forcefully pulled him out to manifest the power of Persona

he feels more confused than mad at this entity he’s meeting again in a weaker state. although, it’s still powerful enough to stand its ground and so he can’t just sweep it up and toss it out of the heart

they’re just coexisting at one point and iznmi continues its studies on human life and ego through a single subject, rather than many at once. it’s an eye opening experience

s.adachi asks it why it’s still doing such a thing when it’s not even god anymore. perhaps it’s a habit it picked up from when it was still working as god and just something it enjoys as its own ego

it doesn’t care if its extracted and it continues to live or if its existence is erased or if it still lives in adachi’s heart. s.adachi won’t change unless the human does. there’s nothing iznmi can do that would really do anything to adachi unless they use all their energy to fuck up his insides and manipulate the inner workings of a person. but that’s some unwritten rules of godhood, to manipulate through external means as much as possible . messing with a person’s ego directly would usually be against the rules of the universe

besides, it doesn’t have much strength to bother anyway

on the outside, many other godly entities are aware adachi’s harboring some remnant power of god. they don’t know it exists with an ego though

iznmi’s whispered enough information about the other world into adachi’s ear back then. although adachi never says or thinks he was under someone else’s influence. like the information was right with him when he entered the TV world. and all his actions and words were mostly his. he never felt out of place because god’s motives synced so well with his.

iznmi doesn’t have as much layers nor is it rotting so much in adachi’s heart in the state of power and manifested being it is at that point. it’s decided for itself what it is, no longer influenced by unconsciouses of what “izanami” is, as it is its own ego.

it has near human complexion and shoulder length gray hair. eyes between bewitching red and dark inky brown. at a height as tall as or even taller than adachi. it wonders what influenced this besides being a manifested collective thought of the myth “izanami” , yet it puts a hand on its chin as it remembers it had the human facade of a gas station to start its plans…

although, it wears a white robe with traditional boots. something s.adachi thinks is strange in this world. so iznmi just adapts and dresses differently to entertain his wishes and ease him somewhat while it figures out its place in the world. wearing a loose long sleeved button up and some dark gray slacks and dress shoes is all. still sporting all white color scheme in one way or another

having noticed it still preserved habits from when it acted as a gas station attendant, something s.adachi found slightly amusing for something that was once a god. now sticking its head into car hoods and managing to survive an electric current between car batteries as it hadn’t grounded anything before attaching the jumper cables

its clothes still returned clean and white after every greasy tune up.

with how one body harbored multiple egos made iznmi wonder if it was possible for theirs to be the prominent personality . although, adachi’s heart is adachi’s heart and s.adachi is literally everything he doesn’t show off or admit to himself. an ego without a controllable vessel is just present, but it can’t necessarily take over a whole other body with a deeply rooted ego and Shadow self to go along with it

in fact, with iznmi having its own ego, it could have its own Shadow self right now. iznmi unsure if it cant detect it or it still can and it just doesn’t have one since it has nothing to hide

maturing and developing and being honest in what it means and thinks while s.adachi is there. it hasn’t been denying anything while admittedly it’s quite the space case, s.adachi thinks.

in fact, iznmi—its power at least—is controlled by adachi himself. when he calls upon his “Persona”, iznmi is forced to take s.adachi and “awaken” Magatsu-Izanagi

as if its ego isn’t strong enough and forcibly takes s.adachi’s arm to make maggi again. some sort of twisted teamwork that involves none of their consent

adachi having maggi out for too long takes a toll on his body much more than authentic Persona users because this energy output is too much, using god’s power as a catalyst to “awaken” it, and using it to strengthen this “Persona” more. but also using energy to use his Shadow self as a Persona ingredient in the first place

recalling maggi, s.adachi and iznmi just return to this limbo before they set their feet back into adachi’s heart. like a grace period just incase maggi needs to be called again

iznmi apologizing to s.adachi that it wasn’t the one in control this time around and it didn’t mean to do that to him. without adachi’s will, neither of them could even come out. iznmi isn’t in control of its power anymore.

seeing iznmi so apologetic was a first for s.adachi. and they both understand what’s going on anyway

when maggi glitches out, people can better see the body of fog underneath it, like a blurry silhouette of maggi itself. it’s the “Persona” that’s losing stability, not the godly power as represented by fog. if the Persona fizzles out, so will the godly power, as it has no vessel anymore

marie tries to do her job and defeat kagutuschi and return Inaba back to normal. She makes a pocket world to transport all the normal folk in and keep them safe. she asks the velvet room for help to better advise souji while giving him and her a place to breathe, as it’s always done. Then, she searches for the remnant of herself she wasn’t able to collect beforehand, which is stuck in Tohru Adachi. she was too busy cleaning up after iznmi and couldn’t deal with kagu, as he’d been working very stealthily away from her own perception. she couldn’t interfere with shadow labrys as margaret told her not to. and she couldn’t fix external factors in time that kagu had formed a mimic dark hour. but she still has time to make things right, and margaret and the vroom decides she can finally make her move with the other Persona users

she dons her vroom accessories to show they’re working together and lending her a bit more strength as most of her own godly powers are still in use. she isn’t at full strength.

she lures adachi away from the tower—from kagu—as much as possible. then traps him in another pocket world with the rest of the godly power she can muster for it, all so kagu wouldn’t immediately find out what’s wrong.

she tries to explain herself to him and why she needs him, and how she’s going to try and extract the godly remnants he harbors so it can rightfully return back to her and she can defeat kagutsuchi. adachi has two plans now, 1) stop people from dying and delay sho’s plans so the Persona users can deal with the mess or 2) give up whatever godly remnant this kid says he has so she can deal with the whole mess herself

he remembers this kid, the same girl that looked so lost and out of place that he told her to go to a police box for directions. now apparently, she’s a god? while her appearance may be deceiving, he can truly feel that she exudes a godly aura. petals scattered about and wind that carried the scent of those flowers. that must be her power

iznmi gets up and is aware of this familiar presence. marie from the outside can already resonate with it. she asks it to “come out” it says “i can’t”. then after a bit of silence, she strikes a lightning bolt right in front of adachi. this girl was unreadable, whys she out to kill him now? is that how she decided she’s going to take back what’s hers? it looked like she had a more reasonable and non death involving plan to extract her remnants from him

yknow, an excuse to have that ultimax arcade battle or whatever

adachi can’t even shoot Marie, she’s too fast (damn kids) and her powers deflect them anyway. he summons maggi with the same terrible pain he feels in his head, before it courses throughout his entire body all at once. he hates summoning it, he thinks he’ll grow numb to the pain though. but does he want that? i mean, to stay alive, he probably would

iznmi was quickly explaining to s.adachi that it might finally be extracted. and while s.adachi lights up, it continues to explain that its powers may finally return to the rightful whole of god, all so that it can finally defeat its other remnant, which is currently bloated with power which makes them equal in in godly strength.

it doesn’t know how to ease s.adachi. they’re friends now. it doesn’t know if it can still continue existing with just an ego. does its powers even contribute to its current existence as its self? is this new god powerful enough to grant it its own vessel to hold its ego and keep living? is she kind enough to even let it live?

….of course she is. she might as well do anything to save a life, with how her life was almost taken from her. she knows very well the beauty of living. but would she ever forgive something like itself? the same thing that told her to bury herself? that thing that put her through unnecessary grief the with every breath she took?

either way, them leaving this heart of a human would be liberation for him. that it can still offer up itself to the world as a sacrifice to save it. it can take s.adachis memories again and he’ll live in peace

“again?” he doesn’t remember anything about that gas station attendant, does he? he doesn’t know how much adachi was made to forget. he’s mad if it had taken memories from him when they were actually friends in the real world. it doesn’t clarify anything. its mind goes blank as its body clutches s.adachi’s arm again. he only scowls in anger, disappointment, and sadness. if only adachi knew how much he cares about bonds, how his Shadow would tear down wallpaper and kick drywall when he loses them. and how someone else doing the exact same thing to him only makes him feel worse.

Magatsu-Izanagi is present again, but it glitches out violently . adachi says it’s never like this before, he feels as if he’s losing control of his own Persona. it was never a “Persona” to begin with anyway.

kai: so funny trying to think about this like there’s three things to Maggi. adachi, s.adachi, and iznmi

adachi is in control of the godly power that can summon and Maggi in the first place, as well as have his Shadow with him. it’s his Shadow that provides the vessel for Maggi and its strength as a Persona. Because it’s inauthentic, it has to be awakened with the godly power, as well as provide its share of power to make is as strong as an authentic Persona, maybe stronger

at this point, Adachi can’t control Maggi as well as he could not because of the user-Persona link, but because S.Adachi is being dramatic and uncooperative with the godly power and iznmi’s ego

the vessel can’t work together with the godly power that it’s paralyzed and malfunctions when something happens

kai: where was i

iznmi is very much still the godly power. the remnant of god, that happens to have formed an ego for itself. theyre much too connected with one another that theres no way to separate them unless theyre to be split AGAIN

marie recognizes what’s going on with maggi. while it was able to be summoned because of her remnant, adachi cant control it at this point because the Shadow self, what makes an authentic Persona, isn’t cooperating with the remnant, an outsider to the authentic Persona process

it’s glitching and seeping out fog. its eyes are flashing red and yellow when it used to be just red. it looks rather confused, and maybe a bit sorrowful now that shes in its presence

marie continues to make use of the human fight or flight response and she fights against it. for a moment, adachi thinks its moving because of his will. but it was all only by coincidence they were acting in sync, where it was at that point did adachi realize that. it starts getting more violent and sloppy in its movements, desperately trying to keep itself “alive”, from whose will? everyone is unsure at this point. but marie stretches her mouth to think her remnant had built up this survival instinct in the first place

maggi is out of anyone’s control, as if a representation of an ego, its shadow, and another ego going out of sync and arguing silently. marie manages to break half of its mask off, adachi seeing only a foggy mass underneath it with a red eye staring forward into space.

after much struggle was marie able to tear the whole mask off, the foggy mass not only seeping out, but gushing from the head of the “Persona”’s humanoid body, almost akin to a decapitated head with blood instead of mist

she grabs onto the neckpiece of the entity and looks straight towards where the head would have been, to which a pair of eyes return, the same warning lights of red

like alphas of color splitting apart, their eyes show a chromatic aberration of digital colors before the foggy mass begun to take shape of a head, hair flowing from its scalp instead of gushing mist.

it stands almost as still as a statue with an expression still indiscernible from the fog still floating about. marie steps back from the tall figure while adachi sits with his back against the wall having been able to see everything that had transpired. vision blurry and breathing strained from the effort used to keep this thing manifested

it stands straight, gaining composure. its headband flying in the wind along with the petals that came from the gust of wind. it plants its weapon into the ground, resting its weight there. a complexion of human skin seeps through the snow white wispy strands of hair, before the hair itself had grown a darker color. its eyes open without a flutter from its eyelids with elegant lashes, showing what could have been a sunset across the horizon, before it calmed down to a quiet scarlet

“what did you do?” “i gave you a bit of myself… so you could be yourself”

it looks towards the haggard looking man on the ground, unable to keep his eyes open any longer. “we’ll resume this audience later. mortals should rest”

it covers its face with its hand and dissipates in a red aura as it glitches away. marie herself falls to the ground, looking down, desperately catching her own breath thinking about the rest of how she should distribute herself

so at this point marie gives mimi more power so maggi could stabilize, but also give it a chance to speak as theyre powerful enough to have their ego stand out.

it was conscious most of the time as maggi along with s.adachi but none of them could really do anything on their own since they cant go against adachi’s will

marie tipped the balance a bit so iznmi’s more of itself than maggi, giving adachi less control over maggi

and in a way, s.adachi is less conscious of what’s happening as maggi

“why… why am I [adachi] so tired” the shadow would ask, now unaware of what’s happening

now trying to summon maggi requires the cooperation of mimi and adachi. adachi can try to summon it but mimi has to comply, like hes knocking on the door and only if mimi agrees to it will maggi come out. but also the other way around. mimi can go knocking on adachis door if it wants to come out or speak. and its up to him if he wants to exhaust energy to keep it outside

kai: okay how do i explain this

the godly remnant is within adachi’s body along with the power. mimi’s ego is within adachi’s heart along with s.adachi. mimi ego isn’t in adachi’s psyche so they aren’t in the same headspace to just talk to each other

they just get that gut feeling when the power of “Persona” is attempted to be utilized by the other party

sososo funny i made a makeshift standing desk setup so i can really pace around the room more easy;y

adachi still has the choice to go along with marie’s plan or solely focus on his plan. either way, when kagu’s defeated he’ll still come back to marie and give back mimi

while i just mentioned Shadows themselves cannot change and have their own memories, since mimi broke the rules a bit and stayed with s.adachi long enough, adachi kind of wants a more reassuring ending for the thing he’s harbored for so long

because it’s in his gut to want nice things for the thing inside him

unsure how to give mimi a vessel for its ego and marie can have her powers back—that nobody knows how to even separate the ego and power anyway

in the end, marie just wants it to work together with them to protect inaba. it’s learned the beauty and value and life and can work to make up for what its done in the past

anyway how does their plan go

kai: the plot goes on as normal this just happens when adachi has that power nap i guess

kagu sho nor zukki now that this went down and whenever adachi has to summon maggi, mimi has to play along

marie tells adachi to continue his plan in delaying sho’s plan while marie looks around for others and saves them in critical moments so now the antag 3 are running their heads around trying to capture marie

i’m not sure if i want to make an alternate timeline route like side p3 or p4 or fucking. ep adachi idk

souji and labrys get to work together because i said so

they deal with sho and zukki because marie doesnt have much to do with them

kagu is aware of marie messing around the mimic dark hour and approached her once probably saying whatever shes trying is futile, but he wont waste assets on her nor fight her himself at that state because hes not at full power or whatever. it’s a race against time between the two at this point

adachi’s busy trying to figure out why the godly remnant he harbors is so familiar, while mimi and s.adachi are having some sort of existential heart to heart

also mimi explaining memories aren’t really taken, theyre just sealed away. and they could be sealed away forever. having adachi tug its arm and find out where those memories are and if mimi can unseal them

they say that it cant even with the power it has now, but it CAN with the power it has now as compared to before. it just feels guilty now and doesn’t want to unseal them

s.adachi having issues with someone he cares about severing bonds between them but he doesn’t know how to react because adachi himself had never developed that response before.

does mimi ever unseal his memories? maybe. then it all comes to adachi and his Shadow can finally do something about mimi

nobody’s aware that mimi developed an ego, but kagu does have a sneaking suspicion as he feels more of his izanami within adachi

sho and zukki dont bargain with mimi because they dont know. adachi tries to break the persona crystal and gets his ass handed to him

i dont know if marie or mimi saves him or if hes saved at all. i think mimis there and shokki try to make a deal with them

theres this arcade battle between them to check out the new magatsu izanami mechanics i guess

marie was already held up by kagu himself just so he could see if he could take her on so that was another battle itself. they have this godhood dialogue and marie beats his teddy ass and they meet at the tower where mimis having a showdown with shokki trying to get them to “tame” kagu when marie break in and says thats impossible because everyone’s been lying their ass off to the other party

thats when souji and labrys try to talk sense into shokki and kagu finally walks in when everyone’s fucking tired

like adachi mimi and marie stand their guard while labrys souji and sho are so so exhausted and kagu possesses shokki and his godly body manifests

the first three are like “itsok we got this” and you can choose to play adachi and mimi or marie

the arcade battle is over and they need to finish him off !!!! so marie says “we’re going to fight fire with fire. and adachis like what the fuck…… maggi’s recalled and marie uses adachi’s body to manifest izanami-no-mikoto, and marie finally gets to be with mimi while adachis unconscious or whatever

they deal the final blow and BWOOOOSHHHHHH kagu’s defeated YAYYYY souji and labrys go find sho while mimi and marie are manifested separately . they look around and see adachi rising from debris and mimi picks him up. mimi didn’t completely unseal those memories, but rather just loosened the seal instead. he could try to find out on his own and decide if he wants to forgive it or not. it just wants to offer the same kindness he showed it when it was at its weakest

marie’s off to find remnants of kagu while everything gets resolved. the vroom sisters are watching the three kids have a fight along with the other three.

everyone’s taken back to where they need to be while marie and mimi deal with adachi personally. they dont get to tidy him up but they manipulate the unconscious enough that people think adachi looks so beaten up because of that throw down with the last cop lol

epilogue where adachis remembering mimi bit by bit when they were still an attendant. they meet every week during visiting hours and adachi let’s the whole god thing slide. it was still his own human will to go do all that shit anyway and used god’s toys handed to him the way he did. he has his own fault in the matter even if god did choose the most exemplary humans as guinea pigs on purpose to start shit. it got its answer in the end and adachi’s glad he could help. they’ve both grown in their own ways because of each other and promise to have a picnic or something when hes discharged. god’s immortal anyway so it can wait

like some anime ed fading out and still playing while credits appear across the screen and mimi says they’ve adopted kagu which hints some sort of sequel which is super funny

marie gets her own epilogue too like her whole weather reporting gig after getting some tips from mimi heehee

kai: did i ever talk about how blanket worked

throughout the summer, adachi’s noticed how mimi can’t handle extreme temperatures. getting heat exhaustion and general fatigue from working hard out of the blue during rise’s return to inaba. and at the same time, mim’s constitution has just been degrading, where mim’s body is becoming more human and more sensitive to the environment, rather than just having difficulties being a foggy mass. now appearing often flushed and sweating in the heat and clamming up when the ac temperature is too low

the owners themselves are the ones keeping the temp low in the kombini which does attract a fair amount of customers just for them to cool off, and mimi already has a hard time staying there as the back room itself is affected

having no need and not wanting to return to the TV world especially in the middle of Souji’s shifts or rainy days, they just curl up on the couch with a thin blanket left over in one of the employee lockers . during Souji’s shifts, he encourages his senpai to take a break while takes over

adachi, having witnessed this behavior himself and it being confirmed by souji, wanders around the Junes department store looking for some good replacement

with what’s left over from his paycheck and buying the bare amount of groceries as he’s always done, he figures what to get—only if it can be bought with what’s already in his pocket

of course he’s enticed by sale and clearance, but he walks away and shakes his head. as if he’s actually concerned of its cheap quality and that someone other than him deserves better. he doesn’t entertain those thoughts

he finally finds something that’s oh just outside his range. it felt durable and warm enough to fend off unreasonably cold store temperatures. it even had a stupid starry pattern on it that reminded him of the idiot he was trying to keep alive

“detective?” he’s suddenly startled by someone possibly calling him out. he wasn’t even playing hooky this time, he was genuinely off the clock for that evening. but his voice was rather familiar.. so turned his head. it was namatame

now he felt even more embarrassed he’d been seen obviously shopping for someone other than himself. “that reminds me of that kind employee at the gas station” gahh why’d he have to point that out

trying to find a way to deflect that relation, adachi asks why the off duty deliveryman was here. he mentioned he was getting his own groceries and his former interns invited him to shop around the department store. also, in a way, babysit their little siblings and keeping them entertained. he had seen adachi wandering around for a while, patting his pockets and looking at other blankets and sheets

no longer being able to deny it, he looks up trying to keep a straight face and is surprised to see a discount voucher held in front of him. it was given to namatame, and seeing how it’s going to expire quite soon, he offers it to the detective who has better use for it. adachi, coming from being speechless, stutters a thank you that almost felt genuine. namatame tells him to have a good evening, and as he calmly walks away, he’s tackled on both sides by two children, while their older siblings rush over and adachi hears them apologize. he himself hides behind a pillar before he’s possibly dragged into that mess

adachi was in his raincoat walking up to the gas station. Souji had welcomed him with his calm signature of greeting, as compared to his senpai, that is. it looked like he carried something under his coat for it to stay dry.

“senpai isn’t here” souji mentioned almost immediately. adachi only scoffed at this snarky sounding response from a kid

along with the rain, the rumbling of a vehicle approached as adachi did: a truck. it was namatame. it appears everyone was on duty that day.

namatame hopped out of the truck to shake off the rain from his own raincoat. he greets souji, and adachi with “nice to see you again, detective” aware of what he carried with him. souji could only imply what namatame knew and what the situation was already about, and he would confirm he was right from the start.

souji gets to work immediately as adachi looks out into the rainy atmosphere of the shopping district, something awfully familiar to him at that point, even if he doesn’t work there nor gas up regularly at all.

he distracted himself with the rain as souji and namatame had a conversation. he didn’t bother to figure out what it was all about

just then “oooo-welcooome!” was heard along with a rush of footsteps against wet asphalt. the attendant came rushing in from a distance, yet stood still in front of adachi, as if he were blocking him.

he dropped his arm from his head and tilted at the sight of the detective, “mister detective?” only for adachi to do his signature “you dumb idiot, get under cover, you don’t even have an umbrella!” and dragged the late employee by his windbreaker

he didn’t look that wet. “what happened?” “my umbrella broke on the way here and flew away!” there was a gust of wind just earlier that did disturb adachi’s thinking

“well whatever. hurry up and get to work, freeloader.” he then shoved a Junes branded bag into the man’s hands and fitted his one arm back into his raincoat sleeve. “and take this. jeez, you made me wait”

“oh, it was for senpai” souji thought. he didn’t say anything out loud.

adachi stomped away back into the rain, and it was almost as if his steps were hurrying like he was late for something (he was on lunch break he really did take too long). “ho…” the attendant hummed as he fished out what was in the bag. the smell of laundry detergent wafted in the air as he picked it out, it was a soft blanket.

under the brim of his hat, he truly had a gaze and a smile as soft was what he held. he turned behind him and threw his voice “thank you!” as if the man in the rain didn’t hear it, he projected his cry louder “get back to work!!!!” with a smile that reached his ears

“you’re welcome!!!! dumbass!!!!!!!” he yelled back, planting his feet in place before turning away and truly running back to the station.
